Rita Allen, M.A., is an award-winning vocalist, speaker, and trainer. Her clients include corporate leaders, celebrity speakers and housewives. Her presentations are absolutely unforgettable and absolutely life-changing!
Rita began her "stage" life at age three which developed into a full-time travel-performance life by age 19. After being awarded second place for female soloist in the Florida Gospel Music Awards, her performance career soared. She became a member of the movie cast, "Kent State Riot," starred in numerous TV commercials and made hundreds of TV appearances from news programs to full TV specials. Three years in a row, Rita was a finalist in the Mrs. Alabama Pageant resulting in a contract pageant judging position with a national pageant, judging pageants from Maine to Florida. Rita has enjoyed paid performaces from a very early age.
Since 1982 Rita has enjoyed her own, very successful, performing arts studio teaching private voice, public speaking, stage presence, personal development, wellness, motivation, and stress/anger management. ected Elementary Choirs, Middle School Choirs, High School Choirs, Show Choirs, Concert Choirs and Adult Choirs. She designed and directed yearly revues with casts of up to 120 including singing, speaking, dancing and drama! In 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003 she performed at Carnegie Hall in New York with her choirs. In 1999 she took them (40+) on an Arts Education tour of England!
Rita has been the Drama and Music Instructor for three private schools, two public schools, five churches and one college, resulting in scholarships (full and partial) for more than 25 of her private students. She has also been a popular columnist in for over 30 years.
Rita has an Associate Degree in Vocal Performance, a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Music, and a Master's Degree in Liberal Studies with concentrations in Public Administration, Emergency Management and Counseling. As a result of the Baby Boom Generation, Rita decided to merge into the retirement industry. With just two classes to go, she will complete a second Master's Degree, this one in the Science of Management. She has spent the last three years in marketing for a large retirement community where she led the community from 62.5% occupancy to 95% in just two years through speaking engagements, mass marketing and personal connections.
Rita is a member of the National Speakers Association, President Elect of the Alabama Speakers Association, Vice President of Network Birmingham and a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs. She loves a challenge and cherishes adventure!
