Carlos's Story
After graduating in '77, joined the Army and not knowing that I would serve my country as a military career. Been out of the country over 14 years out of 20. I'll tell you one thing. Sure gald I was born here in the United States of America. Don't want to bore you with all the details, but to tell you briefly. Was stationed in Korea twice, in '79 and '96, definitly "land of the morning calm". Completed tours in Bosnia, Honduras and twice to Egypt. While stationed in Egypt, besides visiting the Pyrmids and the Sphinx, had to go to the " Holy Land", Jerusalem and see all those historic sites that gave me chills and appreciated the religious landmarks in that part of the world. the conflicts in Somalia, were the Blackhawks went down, Panama, operation " Just Cause". Once more had received orders to participate in the Gulf War campaign which had started as operation " Dessert Shield" and turn to "Dessert Storm". While in Honduras met my wife there and divorced several years later, however did have two boys with her, which I still guide and care as much as I can for them even if both of them already made me a Grandpa. This is all apart of my other step-children that I dearly love. So much details left out, maybe one day I'll write a book. Presently living in Fort Worth (Dallas) to be close to my kids. I do enjoy wearing my San Antonio Spurs gear up here. Hope to hear from my fellow Alumnus. Take care and God Bless.
