Barbara Land's Story
Since graduation, I have lived all over the country (Montana, California, Illinois, South Dakota, Wyoming, Florida, Nebraska and Colorado) and now Florida again. I have worked numerous jobs with the government, AT&T, a television station. the medical field and in hospitality. I have been fortunate in traveling on cruises to Alaska, Hawaii. the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, the British Isles including Ireland, Wales,, the UK & Scotland, and on a 26 day cruise to Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Russia, Germany, Iceland, Greenland, Canada and back to the USA. I have loved all of the countries I've visited. I am now divorced but was married and have two wonderful daughters, two fantastic son-in-laws and three beautiful grandchildren. I now lived in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado - green, green in the summer and very white with snow in the winter, elevation 9,110 ft.. I've seen a lot and been a lot of places but .... there are still dreams to come true hopefully. Will be at my 50th class reunion so see you there, class of '65!
Just returned from 18 days in Ireland! Beautiful country with all the castles and old ruins. Loved all the sheep there. Driving on the wrong side of the car and the wrong side of the road was a real experience. Good to return to the US and our customs and American food! Great trip!!!!
Just attended our 50th Reunion and it was fabulous! So glad I attended. Was such fun reacquainting with past friends and making new ones. Sad to hear all the names of classmates we've lost. We are in our golden years now so get out and enjoy as you never know what tomorrow will bring your way. Hope we are able to come through for future reunions. Although a lot of work for planners, it was so worth it to all who attended.
Nothing better than the largest class to ever graduate from JVHS --- Class of 1965! !...Expand for more

I've planned another awesome trip for April. Going on a 10 day riverboat cruise that starts in Amsterdam. Will see parts of The Netherlands and Belgium. Should be miles and miles of beautiful tulips during this trip and I so look forward to the trip!
Just returned from The Netherlands (Holland) and Belgium. Was a wonderful trip and the tulips were awesome! So was the Belgium chocolates! Riverboat cruises are fantastic!
I've now added a Christmas Markets riverboat cruise with my 2 daughters from Budapest Hungary to Amsterdam which was wonderful with all the markets & beautiful Christmas decorations.
In May of 2019, I flew to Milan Italy where a 20 day trip started. with most of the traveling being done on the bullet train.. Went to all of the major cities - Stressa, Milan, Rome, Venice, Florence, Naples, Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast, Capri & Ana Capri Islands, & Sorrento. Was a fabulous trip.
In Oct 2019, I flew to Toronto Canada for 3 days with a friend & then a riverboat cruise from Toronto Canada on the St Lawrence seaway to Portland Maine. Loved the Canadian cities!
In Feb 2020, just before lock down for the Corona virus, I met a friend in Las Vegas. Was another great trip & so many changes since I was there before. Saw a fantastic show called LOVE which was a tribute to the Beatles, saw my first rugby game, went to Irish pubs, the beautiful water show & just enjoyed time with my friend!! I'm always ready to travel but seems this virus has everything on hold for now. Hopefully we'll be able to have our "55th Class Reunion" and if so, I plan to be there!!
Loved our "Birthday Party" in Oct 2022. Was great seeing all who came out for it.
We are seniors now & if you haven't traveled, you've missed a great opportunity to see so many beautiful places!! For now, hope everyone will be safe & healthy!!!
