Crystal's Story
Hello Poet family, it's been a very long 27 years since I've seen some of you. It's great to network with some of you on Facebook from time to time. it brings back old memories from the "Good Old Days". I've been on the move that last 5 years, I relocated a few times,I remarried on 12/31/2005 then I moved from our hometown of Balto. in July of 2006 to Fairburn, GA. I spent 23 months in GA until my husband's job transferred him to FL. I stayed in GA without him because my son, now 20 yrs. old was graduating high school in a few months,so I did what most mother's have to do, sacrifice so that my child can be happy and successful. In late June of 2008, I moved to Davenport,FL which was nice(near Orlando) but after getting all settled in, it was time to move again, we relocated from Central FL to South FL near (West Palm Beach). I found employment in the area for about 8 short months, had some challenges there, so I decided that I needed to get myself in a position that would be secure even if I had to relocate again, soooo I made a decision to return to school. yerfully will be graduating in January 2012 and looking forward to working as an Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) while I bridge to a RN Program to get what I believe to be my last degree before retiring (LOL). I also graduated from Coppin State College back in 1990, BS in Applied Psychology , pledged Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Spr. 87, for Greeks out there, and worked with at -risk kids for over 13 yrs. with the Mayor's Office of Employment Development(MOED) 1993-2006. I miss being in Baltimore because of family and friends but I love the weather in the "Sunshine State". I don't miss the snow, ice, and the very cold temperatures. It's been an adjustment relocating but it has allowed me to test my faith and trust in the Lord with all my heart. I live with the thought, " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"(Phil. 4:13) because some days are more difficult than others and we all have testimonies that we lived through. Well this is my story and this is what I been up to thus far, look forward to hearing from you all on FB and hope to see you all at our next reunion, sorry I missed the most recent union, but hope to see you all soon. Keep In Touch C/O "84"
