Elizabeth's Story
Life
After graduating from Brunswick High School (Maine) in 1987, I attended Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire until 1990, then University of Southern Maine, where I graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor's degree in English. After working for Polo/Ralph Lauren in Freeport for a few years, I moved to Maryland in 1994 and started working for Sandy Spring Bancorp, a large bank, insurance, and leasing company in Olney. I began my career as a teller and am now a Bank Compliance Officer and AVP in the legal area.
My husband, Ronan, graduated from Bowie High School (Maryland) in 1986 and University of Maryland with a Bachelor's degree in Economics in 1991. After college he worked in the golf industry and earned his pro golf certification in 1998; he was a pro at Bowie Golf Club for several years. he has worked for other financial organizations, but is currently with Citigroup in Frederick, MD.
We live in a very small, historic town in northern Maryland, just 5 miles south of the Pennsylvania border, with our amazing son, Conor (born Nov 2004), and two beautiful yellow labs, Allie and Morgan. The location is ideal - not far from the mountains and only 20 minutes to the nearest ski area, and then the ocean is only a couple of hours to the East. We are looking forward to teaching Conor how golf this summer and ski this winter.
In our free time (yeah, right), if we are not chasing Conor or the pups, we are probably working on the latest home-improvement project or planning the next one. There's always a room to paint or a floor begging to be ripped up and replaced. We also enjoy traveling to South Carolina to visit my parents where they have retired to warmer weather.
