Dawn's Story
Life
Boy how things change when I was in school I was the typical metal head. I grew up on Elmira Ave in downtown Huntington Beach. Wow what a change now. I would love to hear from some of the people I hung out with. Phillip Mosing was my best bud south paw was your signature on all your drawings. I would also love to find Jeff Thomas and Cathy Sweetman. I briefly caught up with Alynn and Todd but I haven't gotten to talk to Alynn. I miss her.
Most people can't believe I'm a paramedic now. Especially the ones that didn't know me the best growing up. All I can say is if you took the time to know the real me you would have known just how caring and loving I really was. You can't judge a book by it's cover.
I have grown up so much over the years and I would really love to talk to some of the people I knew back then. My life is so different now but I would not change my teenage years for anything. I learned so much and it really made me the person I am now. I also have so much experience when it comes to my son that there's nothing he can't talk to me about and I believe it has made me a better mother. I am now a mother in law and a grandmother. She is the light of my life. I thought being a young grandmother would bother me but it's the exact opposite....Expand for more
I forgot just how pure the love of a child is. If you want to know anything else just ask.
So another change...I am now a General Manager at Applebees in Tenn. I lost over 25lbs and feel great!!! I had to get out of EMS when Lindsey came into my life. I no longer could have the cold shell you need to deal with death on an everyday basis. I was engaged to a man who went to high school with us. Well if you noticed I said "was" engaged. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Oh well I guess that's it for now.
Workplace
I started out as a Firefighter in Florida once I got a divorce. I had a family killed in a fire so I left and got into restaurant management. I was a manager for Applebee's for several years but was never happy. I then realized I was meant to help people and I had a gift for that. I became an EMT then went on to become a Paramedic in Atlanta, Ga. I now am a Paramedic/Supervisor for a major corporation that runs 911 in Atlanta. I love what I do and am very good at it. (At least my patients think so) I can't imagine doing anything else. well that was until Lindsey came along. My son got married went into the Army and had a beautiful baby girl. So I moved to Ft Campbell to help while he is deployed. I am now a General Manager for Applebees.
