Anya's Story

HELLO FELLOW CLASSMATES and NEW FRIENDS, I went to Blodgett, and Corcoran, as SOME of you did. Later I went to work and then to Onon.Comm.College. Dated Jerry L. for 5 yrs, got married and lived in Canada thereafter. We raised 5 great kids: 2 girls,1 boy ,& later twin boys. Have 5 grandchildren....ages 15, 5, 3, soon 2 and 2 and expecting baby #6 in Winter '16. I started a Private Home Day Care, in '72 and am still running it today. The only difference is that they are all my little grandchildren.. The noise is g-r-e-a-t! In between these years, I went to Humber College here in Toronto to study E.C.E. I am fulfilled as a Child Provider-Educator:( caregiver, counselor, disciplinarian, entertainer, chef, arts & crafts, nursemaid, dishwasher, janitor, coach, referee, auntie, granny, story-teller, musician (play some piano and keyboard), dancer, and all the other little titles that go along with it). So you see, they keep me happy and they bring out the kid in me. It has been great talking to some of the classmates, and new friends, and hopefully there will be more. I heard that there is a reunion coming up in 2010. Looking forward to seeing some of you, and looking forward to the noise. The Best to you All! A Fellow Classmate. Anne K. (Anya) CONTINUED: I have been in touch with a few of you classmates, and other friends also, and it has been a pleasure. I do hope that you all decide to come to the Reunion in 2010. Enjoy your summer, and before you know it, that day will come. Hope to see you there. Take care. Anya That Reunion in 2010 was a great success. The organizers did a fabulous job in preparing for this event. The first evening was the Cocktail Gathering. Met a lot after so many years. The next day was the dinner, entertainment and photograph day. I got to be the greeter and enjoyed it. I recognized some of the classmates but not all of them. After all, 45 years has lapsed. The buffet was superb,.... delicious and a great variety of choices. We listened to some speeches, had the music playing and had a lot of fun dancing. My table consisted of a great, lively bunch, who had a blast. We felt lik...Expand for more
e we were back several decades. We danced a lot, and sang at the table and were just so jovial. Our Business, Typing teacher , Mr. Januszka was there with us. Our teacher, Mr. Prokopiak and his wife were there also. I did get to see the two fellows that I was curious about. They were both still married, but they were very social and great conversationalist. The 3rd day we had our Breakfast at the Hotel. Attendance was better than I expected. It was a happy morning but also a sad one because most of us were parting for another 5 years. We're going to have another Reunion in 2015, and I am looking forward to seeing all the Classmates again. UPDATED: February 2015 I had the pleasure of going on an overseas trip to Ko Olina, in Oahu, Hawaii in February 2014. Went with my son, wife and infant daughter last year. It was a beautiful, and memorable trip, but no more flying for me. Photos are posted. Looking forward to our next school Reunion 2015. Thanks for dropping in. Take care! Anya CONTINUED June 2015: By now the class of '65 would have gotten their invitations to the upcoming 50th Reunion. We haven't been able to locate a few but are hoping that you would pass the word around if you are in contact with classmates from the past. Excited and hoping for a great turnout. REUNION 2015: We had our class reunion in August. The organizers did a great job in making this a memorable, successful event. So thank you all for that. It was wonderful seeing all the schoolmates from the past and catching up with things. We returned home with memorabilia and a video to remember the past events. The following day there was a reunion for the classes of the Whole School, at the Elks Club. They had a great turnout with students way back from the early '40 and up. Looking forward to the next ones. My 6th grandchild was born January 31th. He's already smiling and cooing at just 5 weeks old. Mom and dad were surprised by such a quick delivery. Though in the hospital for 3 hrs., he decided to enter when she was walking. My son delivered the head and one shoulder, and then the nurse came to his rescue. Big sister is thrilled.
