Paramedics of today are trained in the use of countless numbers of drugs and medications, diagnostics and interventions, and the apllications of all the above in cases of illness or injury. In a way too, Paramedics act as occasional plumbers contolling the flow of fluids and nutrients through the body's veins and arteries. Also from time to time Paramedics act as electricians controlling the conduction and transference of electricity in the heart muscle either in a natural manner or artificially with the use of Defibrallators. The job is also sometimes tough however. I have been on calls where 2 year olds have been hit by trains and there was nothing that I could do. I have also been on calls where teenagers have made permanete resolutions to short term problems either with a rope, razor blade, or shotgun. There is also the good calls where you can assist a women in the deivery of her children, or sometimes when you literally bring someone back from the dead and you see them walk out of the hospital. I do love my job as a Paramedic! Aaron
