i've forgotten the other ones: pet peeves anyone? i've got bundles of them...mostly to do w/loud 'infernal combustion' vehicles or the sound systems therein...sorry if i sound like an old crank but maybe i am...been living in the inner city(tl)for a decade or more now...i was excited re: it for a while: thought i was going to be 'in the trenches' -on the 'front lines' of the war against poor folks in this country...now i can't wait for gentrification to happen fast enough(kidding!! however u hopefully understand how i feel) the music carreer didn't continue btw: i went to Europe w/my family again in 1978 after a deeelightful summer in the house of the Great Bob Greenwood(does anyone know how he is btw? last i heard he was hanging out behind his computer a lot...i feel i might have an apology or three from that time to offer)
In Any event: so i studied voice and trumpet -trumpet w/a world champion trumpet player called...hmmm.well in any case voice w/Aulikki Rautavaara i believe in Finland where i went to the Savonlinna Opera Festival w/my then 'partner' Mezzo Soprano Leena Tanskanen who i'd met singing at the American Church of Rome where we(my family minus my big brother Ethan who was working...Expand for more
in...-Africa?)lived on via Salaria in a nice place w/a big white grand piano and a great big balcony w/star Jasmine and -well then i went to a (Rudolph) Steiner School: Emerson College in England where idid the foundation year (mostly drama--lots of Shakespeare)and played a beautiful Bechstein grand w/the gardener there who was responsible for rekindling (or connecting in me for the first time?)a true love of classical music... well there i ended up having some sort of a 'problem' and having to be taken back to Italy by my Mom where i was catatonic for a bit...well to be brief(i had a seizure a while back and i find strobing things like screens annoying after a while) well in an case i hope everyone is well(Hi Sandy!!)(the only person from that era i've managed to get back in touch w/if only briefly)and now have a baby grand by something called Shafer and sons(apparently the first mass produced grand made in korea for a big kb shop here-Colton or?)and am cycling for exercise and transportation(let myself go i'm afraid a bit over the years--taurean love of food and all)and am happy to report that i'm quickly(ok not SO quickly but anyway)getting into the best shape of my life...-actually went up to Santa Rosa to visit my mom and back logging some 150 miles on ye olde cyclocomputer there and back.(tho' i had to take a bus for a bit of the way as it was getting late and dark and i didn't know the way) the Orbea my family helped me get four years ago helped a lot w/this endevour...gtg
