Addie's Story
So here we all are, wondering what in the world happened to all those friends that were the core of our very being once upon a time. People, we were so inextricably bonded to, in such heartfelt and unique ways by either classes, bus rides, peer groups, sports or social activities. Yet we all scattered to the four corners, maybe farther sometimes.
We lost track.
For those curious, I married a few times and had a lovely child who is now 34.
A grandchild as well.
I have moved all over the country, New Mexico, Montana, Seattle, NYC, and back to Connecticut. I finally settled in Los Angeles, at least for now.
I have been a teacher, a realtor, a singer, a fine artist, a photographer, and a make-up artist. Later in life, I actually went back to college, got my degree and went off ...Expand for more
to law school to get my Juris Doctorate. It serves me well.
More recently, I negotiate contracts when required for film location work and legal mediation is still of interest. I operate as a dilettante as to anything that has to do with style and design. I adore mid-century modern architecture and interior design. I love the concepts that "less is more" and "simplicity gives us peace".
Recently, I have been able to find and be in touch with a very few of my long adored friends from our high school time of life, my time gone by. A piece of that young girl so long ago, that I lost touch with, has been found.
It is both reflective and cathartic.
And as I look backwards and forward, I do believe that the late 60's & early 70's, was a very very good time to be in high school.
