Al's Story

I was one of the few the quiet intraverted Cuban kids. I don't have fond memories since I was always being attacked because of my nationality. I do remember one person very fondly, Maureen Bolton, she was kind to me. All others were pricks. I left Miami in 68, got drafted in the military, survived my tour as a corpman and got assigned to Tripler Hospital In Hawaii. After my two years were up, I stayed in Hawaii fro 6 years, got married, got divorce and enter into another relationship. She became the mother of my two sons and unfortunately that relationship with my second wife also ended. Moved to California, San Jose area, graduated from SF State with a degree in business which I applied to my profession as a Respiratory...Expand for more
Care Practitioner. Remarried in '96 and retired from Kaiser Foundation Hospitals in 2001 at the age of 53. Moved back to Fla to take care of mom and stretch our retirement funds as my wife was also 54 when she also retired. Now we are living the dream, I'm into classic cars and traveling. Have been all over the world even to my home country. I was able to take my sons and wife to share with them my "childhood". Do not regret the treatment I was given at Miami Central High as that made me the person I am today, Strong, confident, a can do attitude which sometimes my wife tells me it borders into arrogance, but I can live with all of that. I have twins as grandkids, a boy and a girl, and I'm extremely proud of my sons.
