Al's Story

Hello to all. I always wonder how my old buds are? I found out I was adopted at age 40, this is why my last name is now DeGies and not Fulton. I went to my original birth name. My birth father was straight from Italy. I moved around a lot as a kid. Although I spent most my life in Renton-Washington area, I was in Arlington at a place called Evergreen Boys Home around Arlington-Washington, were I made friends there, and at that school. That was were I met my first confirmed girlfriend(Bonnie)in which I made her a ring, made out of wood in shop class, we never kissed though. I had only a few friends as those who truly knew me, realize I was a loner. I was a geeky looking kid that would have resembled Bill Gates with my big black framed glasses. Wow, what a turn of events. I went from being unsociable to; enjoy talking and visiting with everyone. I am happy with my life and the way I have turned out. It's obvious by the pictures I've posted that I love the outdoors, as well as traveling to new destinations around the world. I've hunted various big game, bears, elk, sheep, exotics, etc. I have two homes, one in Indianapolis and the other in Kodiak-Alaska. I am a VietNam Veteran even though I never had to go there, I am blessed in so many ways. I used to work for the State of Washington as an Construction Contracts Accounts Auditor (bean counter) for 15 years, auditing Construction contracts. The new Safeco Field for the Mariners was my last audit before I started my own business in Alaska as a "Outfitter". My Alaska business I sold in February 2008 was called "The Landing at Otter Cove, LLC" which I started, and built cliental that returned on a regular basis, for lodging, hunting big game and of course fishing. The new owners are young and immature and I wouldn't recommend going there just becuase of them. I've seen a lot, been a lot of places and met a lot of good people, to include various celebs. My hunting partner and best...Expand for more
of friends is a retired Pro Football player who played center for the Rams. I am married to former candidate Miss Indiana, I have two wonderful boys, and are grateful for everything life has given me to date. I've been published in magazines and on tv. I am a hardcore hunter and fisherman, I've been around the world on world class trips. Acapulco was one of my favorite trips, nice golfing and I caught 7 sailfish in one day, gotta love it! I have timeshare in Mazatlan at ElCid Mega resort, swim up bars (7) on-site, totally enjoy it with the warm weather and Long Island Iced Teas and cold Cerveza Pacífico beers. I am now a certified NASP Instructor, which means I teach students archery for personal use as well as competition nationally (on my spare time). I also have two commercial buildings (restuarants) in downtown Anderson called Something Different, serving Italian of course. One builing is for fine Dining, the other building is for catering Weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. It seems I have a busy schedule, but my goal is to retire at an earlier age than 65! I don't know if I will ever join this classmates thing, we'll see. I just think about the old days and how life has changed for me so much, and wonder about those I knew in school, and how they are doing. I do make it to Washington almost every year on my way through to Alaska. My next adventure is South Africa in 2010. So much has happened since my puberty days, that I have no way to express without writing a book. I would love to hear from those who know or knew of me! I grew up with Danny Hayes, Mike Campen, and Tim Lenting, and the Carbones since third grade. Yes I had crushes on girls, but was extremely shy! It was a real tough road, but I pulled through just fine. For those who are interested my phone number is listed in my current business listed in this classmates website in Al's Communities under DeGies Installations LLC (career), in Anderson-Indiana.
