He has co-sponsored legislation that prohibted many of the uses of Eminent Domain as well as co-sponsoring legislation for Background Checks for Recreation that has provided security and support for the children and parents of the community.

In 2008 he was a member of the New Jersey Democratic Delegation for the 2008 Democratic Convention held in Denver Colorado,serving on the Rules Committee.
In 2012 he served on the New Jersey State Delegation to Charlotte for the DNC convention.

He currently is the District 36 Democratic Vice Chair and President of the North Arlington Democratic club/organization.
He is currently the Borough Council President and Councilman for the Borough of North Arlington. Al also serves as Vice-Chair to the North Arlington Planning Board.".
