Alfred's Story
After working as a technician/assembler at Rochester Instrument Systems for a couple years, I enlisted in the US Navy because it was looking like I would probably get drafted, and I didn't particularly want to go to the front lines of Viet Nam.
I spent most of the first year in boot camp and schools, and then was stationed on the Charles F. Adams, DDG-2 for three years, where I worked as a Radarman, and was later an Operations Specialist.

I currently work at GE MDS in the Product Assurance Group. We make "digital wireless solutions" (radios for data communication) for the most part.
I obtained a Bachelor of Engineering Technology at RIT in 1986 by going to night school while working at Harris. Fortunately, the Veterans Association and Harris paid for most of my tuition.
I got married for the first time in 1999 at age 49, which might be a bit unusual. No kids.
My wife and I live in a house in Penfield that we had built in 2001. I like to play with ham radio stuff, experiment with electronics, and make beer in my spare time.
