Alfred(Al)'s Story
Life
As of January 2009, I have been married 27 yrs. We have 2 sons, 29 and 22. The older son is an SP (cop) in the USAF Reserve and has been to Iraq twice. My younger son is working in a management position with Starbucks. As of this update, I am no longer involved in a band playing bass although I still enjoy playing my guitars. My profession over the past 30 years has been Precision Mechanical and Technical work and management in those areas. I am now a rental coordinator/manager for a company specializing in high-speed camera rentals for slow motion special effects for movies and commercial production. Our older son has recently become engaged and will be getting married sometime in 2010. I am sill quite passionate about my bicycle rides and I am always ready for a "GOOD TIME". In other words, I love to have fun. Movies, fine dining, fishing, road trips to Vegas or Reno/Tahoe (and occasionally to the California Indian casinos because they're closer). ood time. We used to go camping frequently but haven't been in several years. After high school, I worked a few years for Safeway as a stock clerk, moved on to work in a Porche dealership in Glendale for 2 years as a mechanic and service adviser. Worked in 2 more car dealerships for the following 2 years. After the 3rd dealership, I said "never again" (no job security). Went to work cooking then managing in a small chain of privately owned restaurants. Their business ethnics were somewhat "knee jerk", so I left to go back into mechanical type work, this time precision mechanical, working for a company that manufactured high-tech, orbital tube and pipe welding equipment. Here I worked for 18yrs, working up to Production Manager before the company sold and matters changed within. This company is also where I met my wife. I have now been with my current company for 12 years in different capacities, precision mechanical/management/rental coordinating. This pretty much sums up from "then" until "now".
