Life
***update, October 2009*****My son Dominique is now 17 and a Junior in High school. After sifting through several offers this summer he decided to accept a basketball scholarship to the University of New Mexico. He will be playing for coach Steve Alford who was coached by Bob Knight and played with Michael Jordan in the 1984 Olympics. Now that he has made this decision he can concentrate on his Grades and enjoying the rest of his high school experience. The coaches think that he has NBA potential and will be playing professional basketball at some level after college.
I am married again. I have a 1 year old son named Drew so I will be doing this all over again. I am going to try my best to get to the reunion football game this year. If anyone wants to go check it out there is a reunion football game that happens every year at the school. There are people there from class of 1980 to the 2000's. David Del Castillo started this tradition and has kept it going every year since 1983 I think.
****Update December 2006*******Dominique is now in the 8th grade. He will be attending Chaffey High in Ontario next year. He plays on 3 different basketball teams now including a Nike sponsored team called the West Coast All Stars. He played in Vegas this summer and was seen by scouts from several D1 ...Expand for more
Universities. He is over 6 foot 1 now and can almost dunk. As you can see my updates are mainly about my son. Not too many exciting things going on with me personally.
***UPDATE February 2005***** I now have custody of my son. He is 12 now, he plays basketball with 13 and 14 year olds. I still played semi-pro football as recently as this past season, for now I am retired(until next season starts anyway), I hope to see everyone at the reunion next year. I will try to update more later****
**Update April 2002*** My son is 9 years old, his name is Dominique. He played in his first Basketball league this year, he averaged 18 points a game and won the MVP. He is in another league now and he averages 20 points a game. His dream is to be an NBA player but he also gets A's and B's in school. Alan.
****update December 2002*****Dominique is now on an AAU basketball 10 and under team. It the highest level of competition one that age can be in. His team has already qualified for the 2003 National AAU tourney in Orlando Florida in August. As you guys can see my son is my main focus in life. I am trying to see that he benefits from my life experience and that he avoids making some of the mistakes that I did. Other than that I do not have much of a social life, but I work for AT&T Wireless in Cerritos.
