Alan's Story

Hi Everyone! Boy, does time go by quickly...like the song says "...turn around and you're two, turn around and four..." Turn around and you're a mature person with grown kids of your own. Right after High School, I married the girl next door--Betty (Elizabeth) Eckert, class of '58. Together we had 3 kids: Cindy who now teaches at UMSL as associate professor of Bio-Chemistry; David who is a "finish frame" carpenter and Paul who still lives at home and is unable to work. I went to work for a general insurance broker as a fire and casualty underwriter--then to Hickey-Mitchell Company where I worked for 11 years as a Health Insurance underwriter. From there I did a short stint as a barber and worked in S W Missouri in a small town call...Expand for more
ed Seymour. I formed an independent insurance agency with my business partner in Seymour. We were very successful and I finally bought out my partner. From there to Florida, Ft Myers and then Sarasota. Betty and I divorced in 1989 and she lives in Sullivan. I currently live in the greater Asheville NC area (beautiful here in the mountains) where I am now retired, but still working in real estate as a broker (not much going on at present). I'm currently in a relationship and am very happy. It's been a fun , interesting ride thru life. I sometimes feel I've lived several lives....has that ever happened to you? If we know /knew each other, or if I sound interesting, email me! I'd love to hear from you ('al, as they say here (:0) Alan

Cassie, 2000-2015, aka Cassie Wassie Cutie Patootie (No kidding, that's on her CKC registration papers). A wonderful, cute, playful companion; my mother's dog originally and then we inherited her. She will be sorely missed.

Mom passed in 2004 at age 95. I was age 61 or so when she left. I was lucky to have her in my life for as long I did. There isn't a day goes by that I don't think of her. Boy, did she have her hands full with me when I was
