Alan's Story

Life My Spouse Met my wife in "The Dublin Pub" in New Hyde Park. She went to Saint John's at the time; I was already in my first graphics-related job. We dated and parted a few different times over the years before it finally stuck. My Job Pre-press technician for the last 30 years. Work on Macs (mostly) prepping/creating art for the packaging industry. I modify art to make it print properly according to the method of printing. My biggest account is Pepperidge Farm; I handle the packaging for the Goldfish line - kind of interesting but how many Goldfish can you push around without it being a bit boring? are still on Long Island, but we don't miss it much at all. It is much less hectic and countrified in our part of CT; and I like the less frantic part of my life now. Life has been fairly kind to me. I have all that I want, and I consider myself to be a very lucky individual. I guess that is all I can ask. I do have great memories of my life on the Island and I wouldn't trade that for anything. People I miss from South High: Marc Fashbinder; Bob Meckelburg; Bill Mahoney; Tony Mercurio; Bill Summers; Mike Swarthout; Jim Traumiller; Bill Wengatz; Bob Paris; Mrs. Sapin; Mr. Jackson... Things I miss about Valley Stream: House of Chang; Sam Ash; softball at Fireman's Field; Central Avenue; hanging out at the Blyskal's house...
