Alan's Story
High School? I remember it like it was yesterday!
Yeah, right.
It has really been twenty five years since graduation, hasn't it? Well, here is a brief bit about what has happened in my life since leaving the halls of Nathan Hale High School...
The autumn after graduation, I found myself at the University of Oklahoma to study Chemical Engineering. After realizing that doing that and working full time didn't mix, I found myself back in Tulsa again after just one semester. Took a class or two at TJC, got a job doing some retail management, and although I liked it well enough and it paid really well, I saw no future nor meaning to it. After two years, I found myself moving to Atlanta (change of pace... more opportunities?) and although life there was okay, it still lacked meaning and focus to me. I looked into the United States Air Force and thought I might have found a good fit. So, I enlisted in 1987 and haven't looked back...

ul of postings in all that time: Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Alaska, Belgium, and Northern California, where I am currently posted at Travis AFB, working with KC-10 Tanker aircraft. There has been lots of travel... numerous obligatory months spent in desolate, flat, sandy, not-so-cold environments as well as in and near tropical jungles/rainforests and such. Met and worked with loads of good people, and spent a lot of time on making one or three challenging aircraft fly; I have continued to stay and make a career of the USAF for those reasons!
Found the love of my life in 1988... we have been married 20 fantastic years in May! After a brief interval serving in the USAF, she has since been moving with me and involved in trying to nail down a cure for colon cancer, lupus, and other blood diseases. We haven't had any children, but we do have a pair of cats that are spoiled like some folks' kids.
