Alan's Story

Life Simply, Sparkman to Georgia Military College, into the Army for 28 years and retired. Then worked overseas for 6 years in Lithuania and Republic of Georgia as a defence contractor. Now at home in Huntsville (Monrovia) enjoying family and fun. Workplace Since retirement from the military I have worked in two companies. First I worked for SYColeman in the Army G3 Pentagon, Plans and Policy Department and wrote new Army Policy. I also participated in several Army Wargighter and US Marine experimentation exercises. Next I worked for Cubic Defense Aplications and worked in the MOD in Vilnius, Lithuania and have since moved to the MOD in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia. In Lithuania and Georgia I worked to facilitate NATO entry. Now I dont work for anyone. Military Comissioned as an Armor officer, assigned to Korea 2nd Infantry Division in the Armored Cavalry (4/7 Cav), moved to flight school then assigned to the 82d Airborne Division (1/17th Air Cavalry), moved to attended the Armor Advanced Course ...Expand for more
at Ft Knox, KY. Then assigned to Ft Rucker as a Flight Instrument instructor. Commanded a Staff & Faculty Company. Assigned to USAREUR HQ (ODCSOPS) in Heidelberg, Germany as a Force Development officer. Completed the Command and General Staff College. Reassigned to Ft Hood, TX as the Aviation Brigade Logistics officer/S4 in 1st Cavalry Division and went to combat in Desert Shield/DS and later was the Executive Officer in 1-227th Attack Helicopter Battalion. Next was assigned to the Army Staff Pentagon (ARNGRC) as the Aviation Organizational Integrator. Next assigned to Ft Rucker, AL as the Chief of Organization & Force Development Division in the Directorate of Combat Developments. Next assigned to OPM-SANG in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Next I retired after 28 years. Awards: Senior Airborne Wings, Jump Master, Air Assault Wings, Ranger Tab, Jungle Expert Badge, Senior Aviator Wings, and the Army Staff Badge. Three ARCOM's, five MSMs, one BSM, awarded the Aviation Order of Saint Michael and retirement LOM.
