Hello All: Where have I been for the last 59 years? Three days after graduation I reported to boot camp in San Diego, CA- Naval Training Center as a reservist for 80 days. June 20, 1962. When I returned in late August, 1962, I enrolled at PCC as Police Science Major graduating in June, 1965. Not much happened from 1962 to 1965, the usual part-time jobs, lived at home and hung out and played with friends. Then it happened - June 30, 1965 reported for active duty along with any number of my friends because there was a war in Vietnam. By late August, 1965, I was on-board an amphibious war ship in Da Nang, RVN. Our mission was to support U.S. Coast Guard 82' patrol boats engage in something called Operation Market Time. We also made any number of beachings in places no one ever heard of before to deliver cargo, supplies and troops. I served aboard the USS SUMNER COUNTY LST 1148, from Aug, 1965 to June, 1967 deployed to Vietnam twice. Got our in 1967, got my first full time job shortly thereafter. OK so now what? OK, so I need to finish my education right? I got lucky . . .somehow with my lousy grades, I got into Cal State LA, and eventually graduated from Pepperdine University in August, 1978.. School came easy after the military, plus I had full time work, marriage and my first child. As I'm sure you all understand with all that going on something had to give. So like many of us the first marrige failed. I got lucky, remarried in 1978 and I'm still married to the wonderful Alyne. We have two grown daughters along with my daughter from the first. All are doing well at life, graduated from college have nice jobs and selected good men to share their lives. Daugher number one has two beautiful children - so right that makes me a grandfather. OK so where am I now. Well, Alyne and I live in southeast Clark County, Nevada in the city of Henderson, near Las Vegas !!.
