Upon graduating from Pioneer, I studied both at Rio Hondo Jr. College and California State Long Beach as a Business Administration Major. Worked for the Santa Fe Railway in various field offices which included Fullerton, Santa Ana, Corona, and Angeles Hobart Yard. Upon experiencing a recession in the transportation industry in the early eighty's, I moved to civil service positions. I became employed by the L.A. Unified School District at various schools from Pre-School level on up to Adult Schools in Office Support Positions. In 1984, I joined the California Youth Authority at Norwalk working with Incarcerated Youth or "Wards of the Court" as they were described way back then. I was first assigned to Security Positions, then promoted to Counselor on a Juvenile Orientation Unit for Wards entering the State System directly out of County Juvenile Court. Upon promoting to a Parole Agent Position, I worked as an Institutional Parole Agent in Chino.at the Youth Training School Facility for five years.
