Alec's Story
Life
After CSH I graduated from Adelphi University, worked on Wall Street for two years, and then went to law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I passed the bar in NC and said to hell with law. I had been coaching volleyball for about 6 years at that point and got the job as assistant coach for the men's volleyball team at USC (Southern Cal). We won the NCAA Championship in 90, I got to coach with the USA National team and travel around the world, and then started my own sports marketing company in 92 (basically Jerry MaGuire type stuff). I moved to Atlanta in 1998 founded an Internet company called Auctionworks in 1999 (now called Marketworks). I retired ...Expand for more
from that and started a new company called FSDashboard which focuses on fantasy sports.
Personally, I am single but my whole family, including two great nephews, live here in Atlanta now. Never been married, though I came close once.
I have been back to CSH every year for the past few years and I speak at the "Career Day" in the Spring at CSH. I stay in touch with Sandra Waller (English) and am amazed that Byrd Norton is still teaching (and looks like he is still 30!. Mrs. Brown, who was the Jr. High Librarian (who I worked for)is now "DR" Brown and Assistant Principle! Its scary how little that school and the kids have changed. No tattoos, no baggy jeans, no piercings.
