Diana's Story
Life
Well, here we are in our 50's!
Seems like yesterday when I was
only 18. Going away to college
changed my innocense during the
late 60's and early 70's. I tuned out
for a while like many of my friends.
Eventually, I became an elementary
teacher and began my career as an
inner city teacher in Watts. After
leading a teacher strike at my school,
I transfered to a school in West Los
Angeles. About 8 years ago, I
decided to go back to grad school
with a fellowship at USC. I
completed my masters degree and
decided to continue taking classes
towards a doctorate degree. I am also teaching an undergrad class at
SC and would like to go into teaching
higher ed at some point in my life.

from many parts of the world. Since I
am into science education, I've
joined two Earthwatch expeditions
--digging for fossils in Mexico and the
other, digging for artifacts in Spain.
While I do not mind getting dusty in
the fields, I do take time to travel in
comfort. I just returned from a trip to
the French Riviera.
I feel wiser at this point in
my life and am grateful for what I do
have. I do think about old friends and
wonder what directions their lives
have taken them. It is true, life is very
short and now is the best time to do
it all. P.S. David Wendt and I are back together after 30+ years. We finally got married!
College
Attending UCLA was a great experience in the 60's. I grew up.
