Deb's Story
Life
I have lived in Illinois since '78 and have 5 children. Oldest is lawyer in Chicago, 2nd grads from med school this summer, 3rd runs direct TV installations for Indiana, 4th and 5th still in college. (Yeah, sorry for bragging but I can't help it,!- was fulltime mom with no sense of accomplishment for a very long time.) I'm in college again.(didn't finish 1st time around- imagine that)... it is definitely for the young! It is totally kicking my butt and yet I still like it- always liked school. My husband, John, and I celebrated our 29th anniversary last March. We have been empty-nesters since fall of '04 - kind of weird after all those years of having a full house.
My whole family left southern Cal in the 70's and 80's to go to Bay area and Sac, and now are selling out and all are going to Texas in the next year (yes, I have 5 siblings and all except david who died in '82, are going to the Austin area, including my mother.) I will remain in Illinois, just have to travel a shorter distance to see them.

exas and is married to a fellow scientist. 'Great to hear from him.
I still hope to make it to a reunion sometime soon. I'd also like to hear from so many of you that I used to be close to. Gloria, I lost your address a long time ago. Lynn R, what ever happened to you?, drop me a line.
College
I went to Jr. College in Cal and Illinois in th '70's,then dropped out when I had my 2nd child. I started at Indiana State University in the fall of '04 and will take an entire 4 years to get my Bachelors in Nursing. I am the oldest of the non-traditional students (that simply means OLD) by about 12-15 years. Kind of fun kickin' it with the kids. My GPA was close to what I had in HS but has started to slip as I get progressively more and more sick of homework. Pity for my own children has grown- they rejoice in every pain I feel. Anyone out there tired of the whole FAFSA thing? Financial aid is a pain as a parent but even worse as the student. (Sorry for the rain, I'm writing this with 5 papers hanging over my head and 4 finals in the next two weeks) Anyway, I plan to update this page with sunshine and rainbows when (ever) I graduate in Dec '07 or Spring '08.
