Alfred's Story
I was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida. I am married and have a son who teaches in Colorado, and a daughter who is a Mental Health professional in Fargo, ND. My schools included Lake Morton Elementary, Lakeland Junior and Lakeland Senior High. I later attended the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) and received an Associate Degree in Data Processing. I joined the United States Air Force in 1963, 3 days after graduating from LHS. During my 21 year career, I was stationed in San Antonio, TX; Misawa, Japan (twice); Key West Florida; Minot, ND; Omaha, NE; Ramstein, Germany; Montgomery, AL and I retired at Albuquerque, NM. Among my decorations were the Air Force Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, with Oak Leaf Cluster. After the Air Force, I moved to Denver, CO where I worked for the next 13 years doing computer security for the telephone company. When that job went away in 1997, I moved to Hutchinson, MN for 21 months doing computer security, after which I moved to Foxboro, MA for 2 years, still doing computer security. In 2001 I returned to Denver where I joined the Federal...Expand for more
Government in a computer security role, where I remain to this day. Recently I relocated to Cheyenne, WY with my spouse and telework 4 days a week.
Movies I like include Wide Range of Tastes, but most favorably in the action/drama genre. As far as TV goes, I'm addicted to the Big Bang Theory, Two Broke Girls, Vegas, Downton Abbey, Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, The Game of Thrones and the wife and I are hooked on Dance Moms (my ONLY reality show!)
Some of my favorite quotes include:
No matter where you go . . . there you are:-)
A journey of a thousand miles, begins with but a single step.
See that mountain? One of these days I'm gonna climb that mountain!
Damn the torpedoes; Full speed ahead!!!
Nuts!
Once upon a time, in a galaxy, far, far away . . .
Beam me up Scotty!
It's not the fall that kills you; it's the sudden stop at the bottom!
I'm gonna pick myself up, dust myself off, and do it all over again!
Pie are not square; pie are round; cake are square!
When in doubt, always cut the RED wire.".
If you read everything above, you've got a pretty rounded picture. Anything else you might want to know, ask me . . . I'll probably tell you:-)
