Alice's Story
Retired from my Guidance Director job 10/08 and remarried in 9/09. Am spending 6 months a year in Las Vegas now and enjoying all that the desert and LV have to offer! My son is only 5 miles away when I am in Las Vegas, so that was my main reason for spending winters there, and May thru Oct. in Massachusetts. I plan to attend our 50th reunion, assuming I am still alive and kicking. I realized awhile ago that the only thing that really matters in life is one's health. Everything else is secondary, and seeing so many people I know pass on or become disabled, makes me grateful for each new day. Would love to hear from old friends and hope others will attend this BIG reunion also!
Update 2011: Just published a children's book for PreK-8. It's a Christmas story, written in verse: Snoshoo the Stowaway Bunny. A portion of each book sale is being donated to the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. To find out more about the book, you can see it on Amazon.com! Everyone who's read it so far has really enjoyed it, so I'm hoping some of my NPHS classmates will too!
Update 2015: A very exciting happening for me...Fidelity Investm...Expand for more
ents filmed me for a new ad campaign. It was a really incredible experience and I'd love for anyone interested to view the video. I can't post the website here, but if you go to Fidelity Investment's website and put customer-stories in their search bar, you can click on Alice's story. My dog Cooper is really the star! To produce this 1 min.11sec video, the film crew from L.A. was at my home from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm. It was a grueling day, but one I'll never forget. Not sure why they chose me, but I'm glad they did!
Update 2017: My novel, The Stone Wall Crossing, has just been released on Amazon, and I am so excited about it! It's set in New England and is the journal of a popular high school student who makes a mysterious discovery in a centuries-old stone wall that leads her to a life-altering experience. If you purchase it and enjoy it, I hope you'll give it a great review on Amazon so others will buy it too! I've come to love this "second career" of writing, although I hesitate to deem myself an author. Friends and neighbors who read the book prior to publication found it entertaining and really, that's all I'm aiming for!
