Alice's Story
Life
I am married to a civil engineer and have two sons. The older is a lawyer along with his wife, in Richmond, VA. The younger works for Estes trucking company also in Richmond. I just retired from teaching kindergarten for 34 years. I now work with babies at our hospital's day care center. No back talk:) I am totally retired now and am busier than ever! I enjoy the beach, collect teacups and antiques, I also crochet and "try" to quilt.
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were RIGHT.
Having children has shown me that there IS unconditional love!
My first job was at Ann's Bakery, where I got paid $1.60/hr to...Expand for more
sell baked goods. What I remember most about it is I hated it!!.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Pam Reber, because we went through a lot together and were best friends senior year in HS.
My best friend would tell you I'm fun to be with, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a little shy.
I think the thing that would surprise people at a reunion would be that I have a small yellow rose tattooed on my upper back. I don't "look" like someone with a tattoo.
My favorite memory of childhood is playing outside all day with my friends on Kossuth St. and not coming in until the street lights came on. Oh, how the world has changed in 50 years!!
