Alice's Story
Life
In a nutshell...I got married almost straight out of University to a Brit and moved to London in 1995. I'm divorced now but stayed in England because it's my home and I've got a good career in the UK film industry. I've been very fortunate to have travelled extensively throughout Europe, Africa and Asia. Somewhere along the line, I discovered an adventurous streak and climbed Kilimanjaro and a couple of Alpine Peaks in Switzerland, trekked to Everest Base Camp, mountain biked in Morrocco, been to the Taj Majal twice and travelled across Northern India by train and bus. I've been taken on a boat down the Ganges River in India and attended Bhuddist prayers in the Himalayas. Back in the UK I've run a half-marathon and most recently a 10k. rom everything I've known and although there are many things I still want to achieve, I can't say I regret my choices. Sometimes fate and your decisions take you to unexpected places but I know now that it was meant to be and glad that I expected more from myself than staying in Huntington Park, California or the States.
School
I wouldn't do high school again!
College
U.C. Berkeley was an enriching experience and certainly planted the seed that would see me moving to the UK. It was a brilliant time, met some fantastic people and it was really worthwhile in so many ways.
Workplace
I'm a webmaster for an educational charity funded by the UK film industry and based in Central London. It's not what I thought I'd be doing when I got my English degree but it's great and I enjoy the creativity. London is the best city in the world. Apart from anywhere in Ireland.
