Alice's Story
BIOGRAPHY OF
ALICE MARIE JOINER
Mother, Entrepreneur, Real Estate Broker, Consultant, Women Advocate, Community Activist.
Although Alice Joiner likes to characterize herself as being an ÿAccidental Authorÿ, the truth is there are no accidents when it comes to preserving the soul and the passions that are embedded therein. She was raised to believe that all things happen for a reason and that, what may not be right for the multitude, might be the very requirement for the healing of just one personÿs soul. Passionate about the role women have been given as the gifted seed bearers for the supreme design of the universe, she has committed most of her adult life to public service, leadership development and providing gateway opportunities to women lacking in trade skills. Inspiring women to operate in the role which has been given us, by accepting the calling, realizing the demand, and nurturing ourselves in order to fulfill our role in life. Sheÿs learned that this can only be done through personal evaluation, becoming consciously aware of oneÿs purpose, tapping into the natural God given talents and working diligently to preserve the mind, heart and spirit; in order to be the effective, productive vessels which we have been ordained and chosen to be. She believes that broken hearts, broken dreams and broken spirits are not finite but they are the gateway to the indelible.
Born on December 19, Alice Joiner was the 7th child of 13 to Julius and Alberta Wilson- Joiner of Hollandale, MS. The Joiner family worked a farm located in the central part of the Mississippi Delta. Due to her parentÿs self-will and determination to rise above mediocrity, they later moved the family to Greenville, MS where her father worked in a local factory and her mother worked as a kindergarten teacher.
Inspired by her parents to strive to ÿbe better and accomplish more than they didÿ in life, she worked diligently to pursue her dreams and her passions. After graduating from Greenville High School in 1976 she married, gave birth to two children; Eugene Liger Jr., born in 1979 and Candace Michal Liger, born in 1984. Afte...Expand for more
