Alice's Story
I was Married the day after we graduated, June 24, 1972 to my FIRST husband, Charles W. Doty. We had 3 beautiful children: Jessica , Adam and Melanie who are all adults now and have surprised me many times with 10 Wonderful and sweet Grandchildren!!! I divorced after 15 years and 3 children. My Work at the NJ Herald as proofreader led me eventually to meet my future husband, John Frey. We have been married since 2006 and relocated to NC in 2005 upon JOhn's retirement from the NJ Herald(2004) as Composing Room Manager. We found a place in Stokes County , a little town in King, NC ,that reminded us of "Home", which was Newton NJ for 50 Plus yrs for me. I retired myself in 2016 from my career as a Certified Medical Asst. after working 11 years down here (17 total years NJ/NC) at a Surgical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. I now am happily retired with my husband, John. We have 2 Huskies (John has been raising huskies for 40 yrs or more now) and 2 cats that are our "kids" now in our little ranch hous...Expand for more
e down south in NC these days. I love gardening my flowers and tomato plants and playing with our pets most of all these days. My 2 granddaughters and sister in law are my "family" down here these days and we get together alot for dinner and desserts. 2 of my children still live Up north-- my daughter Melanie, is a Pharmacy Tech, at a local pharnacy, She says she will always stay up North because she loves her" little mountain" Up in PA where she resides with her Husband and 3 children and 2 step sons. My son, Adam, has his own lawn maintenance and landscaping business up in NJ/PA. He loves it up North too where he lives with his spouse and 2 daughters and 2 stepsons, too. My oldest Daughter Jessica has moved south to NC also, but is way East of us, more close to the coastline. My life has been full of joy , and i couldn't have asked for a better, more fulfilling life as i look back now! Looking forward to many more adventures and making many more Happy memories with John and all my family.
