Alicia's Story
We returned from Israel in early Feb. and headed off to Scottdale as Mark's dad, Al Freiman, was extremely ill. He knew we were home, and was able to tell Mark good-bye, as the prostate cancer overcame his will. Mark says that he knew his dad for the first six years of his life and the last six years of his dad's life. They were good years. The father and son got extremely close and Al was able to see Mark's achievements grow.
Israel was a wonderful place which I hope to make home in the next few years.
As we approach summer, we plan to be in NYC again for a memorial at Rockefeller in May. Paul Greengard, who we spent time with in Scottsdale in Dec., plans to honor Al and Mark will speak. ...Expand for more
Then we are off to Geneva where Mark will, once again, go to CERN and see what they are doing. We plan to visit Philip again.
March saw us on 5th Ave. where we saw the St. Pat's Day parade and then came back for IW Day and a lovely dinner in the Rosenberg Sky Room.
Last week, we visited in Los Alamos with Mark's former student and his family. Then we tried to relax in Santa Fe. Again, we had a lovely evening at the Casa Sena and discovered more history at the Palace in the Plaza.
We did have a wonderful adventure in Israel and will be back in November at the Technicon. I'm starting to wonder why we even have a house in Austin as we are not there too often and flit from airport to airport.
