Alison's Story

I think I'm different than the way people might remember me; I found my inner rugby song meister while living in Taiwan and running with the Hash House Harriers, a wonderful and totally politically incorrect way to blow off steam. I might be sliding back to what I might have become without that since getting married and moving (long-term temporary) to Texas. I've been working on doll makeovers since coming here -- did some prints then fell into the whole arena of one of a kind doll makeovers. I like to do some with a message (Ann Coulter and The Clutch of Plagiarism; Paris Hilton in the only iconic outfit I could find after painting a doll that cam to resemble her and on which I then capitalized; a very simple makeover of a Rosie O'Donnell doll into Monica Lewinsky), and I play with a lot of them: the Sepulveda girls which became an entire Sepulveda Family. gain. I don't know if html is permitted here, so my Art Pages start at AliMcJ dot tripod dot com/index Doll Pages are all over the place. Same beginning as above. After the slash, it is dolls6 or dolls8 for a start in the middle. Pics are on Flickr -- AliMcJ Google me as you know me and as AliMcJ. from some of the story prompts: Naruto is a great inspiration for me, and my dog, Fidel, is my hero. The teacher I would most like to see again from high school is Mary Jane Krum Slike. I understand that John Jancar is not around any more. I'd love to be back in Asia, back in Taiwan, and visiting all the places around there. i.e. Southeast Asia, and running again. Trophies on my mantel? I had a one-person show at the National Museum of History in Taipei and the Government Information Office in Taiwan sponsored me on a trip back to the US for two one-person shows of the work I'd done there; one show was in L.A. and the other in N.Y. Not much exciting on the Art Front since I came back to the US. -- I did have one of my dolls, Fleur Delacourt, from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, published in Fashion Doll Quarterly.
