Melody's Story
Wow, so your life story in 2,000 words or less...
sure, I can do that.
Sam and I have now been married for more than 28 years - bet you never thought it would last this long. We have 2 kids - both pretty well grown. Our oldest is a software engineer (making much more $ than his mom) and the youngest is an Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Volunteer Relations at the Mercersburg Academy. She will be getting married in May and then they plan to move to Portland, OR for grad school.
Since high school I spent my time in the family business (remember, I'm an Army brat)- we thought we beat the Russians but apparently there are a few that didn't get the message. Spent the next 20 years homeschooling kids and working here and there. Wierdest job?: ran a karate studio for 3 years.
I finally got the chance to finish my own college degree - had to beat our daughter at it so I was working full time and going to school full time.
Now I am the Director of the team that runs the alumni database for an elite prep school in South Central PA. Some of you will recognize a few ...Expand for more

It's pretty hard to boil it all down to a few relevant facts but I guess the most important has to be that we have survived - a broken back, about a million road miles, and way more weight than I thought I would ever carry (reference the broken back), but survived we have AND we are happy. After moving 35 times in my life I finally have a place to call home - and as long as Sam is there with me I could care less if I move another 35... I'll just make him carry the boxes : ) For now, as the good McBeth's we are we live in Scotland - PA that is. For those of you that saw the movie there really is such a place.
