Allen's Story
Life
ICU nurse at Powell River General Hospital. I was in the Army as a Research Tech, Army Helicopter Pilot, and platoon commander. Seven years of college got me two degrees. I've done short term Missionary work in 3 Islamic countries (I've got actual Taliban clothes prior to 9/11) and worked a small country hospital in India. My ex wife, Corinne and I have one little princess (Jordana)and a tonka toy boy named Jaxon. At Lincoln Christian College - East Coast: I was a layman missionary in Baltimore's west side. I also went to Turkey to apologize for the crusades, 900 years after they started.
School
I've spent almost 11 years in school since I got out of High School. Some of it vocational: Army-lab tech certificate, rotor wing license, attack helicopter rating, maintenance officer, weapons training leader, air assault trng. I have a BSN (Nursing), an AA in Bible and I have a CCRN certification Adult Critical Care Nursing.
College
I have a degree in Bible and BS in Nursing. I've attended several colleges and might continue my education in the future. At Point Loma Nazarene i was the commuter student dude. Workplace
I was a soldier for ten years. I was a research tech at a research base, helicopter pilot, and maintenance officer. I've worked in home care while in Bible college, nursing asst as a college student and now i'm a nurse with a BSN. I like critical care nursing and worked in the Surgical ICU at Memorial Hospital in San Diego. I now work in a small ICU in a smaller town in British Columbia. We have a little homestead on the ocean, in the forest. Buckle up, it's pretty sad to work on young people that have been in MVAs.
Military
I started out as a JROTC student in High School. From that i joined the US Army and became a private in the army stationed outside of Boston at a small research facility (United States Army Research Institute of Medicine). 3 yrs later I went to the warrant officer flight program in Alabama at Fort Rucker and became a Cobra Helicopter pilot. I flew with the 7th Cavalry, 4rth Infantry when i lived in Colorado at Fort Carson. I then went to Panama as an Aviation Maint. Officer with the 228th AVIM (I was a platoon commander). I got out of the military under the VSI and recieve a small pension but I've thought about waiving that money and joining the Army reserves as a Nurse. I'm still mulling that one over.
