William's Story
Hello all, After graduating from Farnsworth elementary in '65, I attended the Beubien branch for my freshman year. For sophomore year we were at the main building. With parents divorcing,we moved to Lindenhurst. Talk about the sticks, what a change from the city.I attended Antioch High for most of my sophomore year. Things got tough for mom and we had to sell the house and move back to Chicago where I attended Taft High for my junior and senior years,graduating from Taft in 1969.
All my childhood friends that I spent 8 years at Farnsworth were at Schurz. Angelo Adams stands out in my mind, Mike Marati...Expand for more

Kenny Gilard, who was a standout second baseman for Schurz, came from Farnsworth.
After joining the U.S. Army in 1970,I attended computer repair school in the army for a year, and got shipped off to Viet Nam in 1971.
Since then, I attended Northeastern Ill. Univ. also worked for Cox, Viacom, and Warner Cable TV, G. Heileman, Coca Cola, owned my own restaurant,Uncle Billy's Char-broil in Mundelein,and for the last 21 years, managed Jungleland Pet Center in Mundelein. We had to close the doors because of economic reasons in February 2009 after 21 years. What's next???? Time will tell.
