Cody's Story
Life
So after Katrina, New Orleans has just become a waste and ghost of it's former self...so I decided to venture on to another new place. That brought me to Seattle, WA, and to the University of Washington...where I am about to start school for Mechanical Engineering.
I've already come up with 22 G's...and still have three more grants to get from the state of washington.
*grin*
School
Well, I do have to say that my favorite teacher became Mrs. Luce, with her english classes and speech writing class...as she became the first step towards me realizing that I had somewhat of a gift for writing...and that I should do something with it.
Then there is Mrs. Bell, who I hassled for four years about the practical application of Trig to real life...who I had to phone after 7 years to say I found a practical application for trig, because while I was trying to build a wine rack for the restaurant that I worked for, I needed to identify the length of a hypotenuse...and spent hours in the kitchen bitching because none of the accounting calculators had a square root function on them.
Biggest crush? Well, woundn't they like to know. (perhaps not, but still...:) There were a few...
Granted I was not the most "with it" person on the planet, but the more I look back, the more I wish I would have done so many things different. High school is really the only part of my l...Expand for more
ife that I regret...I could have gotten so much more out of it...but those were my issues to deal with. Cest la vie. I am happy with where I ended up...beyond a doubt...with all the good and the bad...as that is all part of life no?
College
HAHAHAHA...22 grand already to go to school...applying to University of Washington in Seattle.
Military
Still not entirely sure why I joined the military, though I am glad that I did. It instilled quite a few qualities in me that I would not have otherwise. Integrity, Honor, Responsibility, and most of all, when to know when to bite your tounge, shut your mouth and say "YES SIR!" It at least gave me standards of behavior to continue with in my life that have made me into who I am today...which after a lot of hard work has become something that I am rather proud of...not to mention being part of a unit of cooperative team members, all focused on the same goals. It's where I figured out that if you spend so much time tearing each other down, then there is no time to build each other up...and with the cooperative efforts of more than one person with their own level of passion in the "mission," that anything was possible to accomplish. That is the most important thing I took away from the military...Loyalty...Family...and now, the family that I do have (not including blood relations) is without price, and the best parts of my life.
