Aloma's Story
lucky to meet a wonderful military man that was accepted in a specical program in the navy where he didn't have to go to sea...first it was off to phoenix, az for 2 yrs. what an adventure as we took many opportunities to see that part of the world...so from tubing down the salt river, camping, then off to the grand canyon, las vagas, reno, mexico. then a college program in corpus christi, tx. 1971-1975 , during this time i'd become an avid tennis player and instructor. also by then we had 3 children. a girl, 2 boys.,,,,,career call to wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen, danmark. what a great 3 years for all of us....back to virginia beach... we were able to be back with our family and friends...which is always a plus...but after 4 years off to subic bay, philippines..2 more years, living in a third world country is truely a very learning experience i would have never traded. of course we took every opportunity for travel in the PI and everywhere else we could get hops on. you can imagine alot of interesting stories. ....2yrs 1982-84 off for a visit with family and friends in vb. on the way to Gitmo....2 yrs. it was a very good and got to visit alot of islands, enjoyed the beautiful water and islands.....for a country girl i loved all this traveling. going ...Expand for more
places, doing things you dream about and here we were doing it. really feld blessed/////;our last duty was in dc. we lived their for 14 years. terry retired from the navy and continued to work in the area. i started working for an airline. it was a fun job and had a lot of purks. so continue to travel......of course, the family is out and about....one day we find that my husband had a terminal brain tumor...so this wonderful life together was coming to an end. that was 8 yrs ago yesterday. after several other losses in the family. i found my self in port orange, fl...never heard of it and didn't know a soul but its the place i'm suppose to be at least for now....love the weather and all it has to offer,,,,and if that knight on the white horse should show up...i'd probably let him in.. i hope your wishes and dreams came true if not just think how much fun you can have making them come true......thank you for reading this and it would such a pleasure to hear from you. we touch someone for a moment, reason and or for a life time.........fondly, aloma key briggs ............................ ps how do i hope you remember me...a good person, sense of humor, smiling, pride in my self and thinking out of the box...
