Alex's Story
Life
WELL..
After ER I went to Cerritos JC and played football. We were undefeated and beat Boise State when they were a JC and before they became a national powerhouse.Other ER alumni on the team were Dan Scott, Ron Matkins, Jim Amador & Vic Rivera. I decided to quit football and concentrate on academics. I graduated from Long Beach State with a BS in Accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant & worked for a very large LA CPA firm. I joined the Army Reserves and avoided Viet Nam. I then attended USC Law School & graduated in 1974. I married a fellow law student and moved to Northern California and eventually settled in San Jose area. We have two children. Divorced and remarried and divorced again in 2007. . I have a son who is 16 from my second marriage. This sheep got sheared twice and both ex's got a lot of my wool. I'm a slow learner in this aspect of life.
I have three children. My daughter Alexis is 33. She is an attorney and she also graduated from law school at USC. She works with a large LA real estate law firm. She got married in Aug. 2011 and just had a baby girl so I a a new grandfather. . She was recently named the outstanding young lawyer in real estate in 2013 by the LA County Bar Association. My son Evan is 30. He graduated with honors from San Jose State. He is a Certified Public Accountant. He is in his final year at New York University School of Law, where he has been honored with a position in law review. He was married in 2012.
My youngest son Alexander is ...Expand for more
age 16. He is a sophomore at Bellarmine College Prep in downtown San Jose this fall.. I am working with him in an effort to get him into an Ivy League university.. My children are my greatest gift in life.
I am an Attorney and a CPA. I have a tax & law practice in San Jose. I work extensively in estate planning and prepare a lot of revocable living trusts and also work in the area of post mortem trust administration. I am also a landlord. I own, manage, and improve local apartment buildings,
I started buying apartment buildings.with an eight unit building in 1975. I never thought I would end up being a landlord to this extent. I spend a lot of my time managing and improving them. I really enjoy renovating real estate. It's a break, at times, from my office environment. It was a very wise decision in 1975 to become a landlord in fast growing Silicon Valley; my two ex-spouses will attest to that. It has afforded me and my children a nice lifestyle.
I'm pretty fit; I go to the gym 5 days a week..
I still work full-time, i will probably retire in a few years so I can take long vacations..
I really like live concerts and local and extended trips. I'm a big USC football fan.
I go to all of their home games and many of their away games.
I like the beach in the summer & and snow skiing in the winter.. I have a home in Lake Tahoe and I spend extended weekends there, especially in the winter. I am an avid snow skier.
I met some life-long friends at El Rancho with whom I'm still in periodic contact.
