Wishing everyone a "Hau'oli Makahiki Hou" for 2018! May it be filled with happy & memorable times, good health, and PEACE! Before getting married, I worked for the Dept of Army in Honolulu. Then I got married and transplanted to WI. In 1976, we moved to San Antonio, TX. At that time, we moved due to my husband's job promotions. My daughter was born in WI and my son was born in TX. After our FINAL move to IL, I wanted our children to have their "roots" planted. They attended grade school through high school in Palatine, IL. If you remember former classmates, Harolyn (Yamayoshi) Thogersen and Steven Chang, they both lived in IL. I got together with them often. The Chang's have since moved and retired in CA. I continue to keep in touch with Harolyn. After my divorce in the 90's, I continued living in IL . My last job before retiring was with the Gurnee Police Department, Investigations Division. I reported to a Detective Commander and transcribed/processed case reports for 7 Detectives along with other administrative duties. I had a fun and enjoyable job. There was never a dull moment, and we were always glad when we "busted" the "bad guys". I retired in April 2012. After a nice retirement send off. . . . I sold my condo, packed up, hired movers who then transported my household items to Mesa, AZ. I drove my car from IL to AZ, which is approximately 1,740 miles. It was an "adventure" driving through MO, TX, NM, and finally arriving in AZ. I drove an "all-nighter" from Albuerqueque, NM, to AZ. Lonnng drive! So, driving around the Big Island is a "drop in the bucket!" Both my children and 3...Expand for more
