Yikes! What's happening?
The floodgates of high school memories have just burst and I find myself wandering the halls of AHS. There's my locker, and nearby is that skinny guy named Tim doing his imitation of the Wicked Witch of the West, melting. I can walk right into my old classrooms and see you all! Cathy, there you are, doodling, "Scott is b-tchin" on your notebook. In the band room, there's Lisa, exclaiming, "Marla! It's darling!" Marla is wearing the blouse she made out of teddy bear print fabric. Whoa! Looking across the field, there's that coach, beating up on a student! (That can't have been allowed, even back then.) And here we are in biology class. Kathy is up front. Melody is a couple of seats behind me. John right behind me. going to faint. (I've since attended an autopsy of a human cadaver and watched as a human brain was dissected. Others were fainting, while I strained to get closer. What changed?)
Some of you had such strength of character even back then that I sit and wonder where you are and what you're doing now and how you've made your corner of the world a better place (like you, Madalyn). Others of you were real stinkers. (You know who you are. Or, were.)
And what about me? Over 30 years since graduation, I've lived in British Columbia and London, and am now Sweden. I've worked in the diamond business, taught English as a Second Language, and am now a licensed psychologist about 1/3 of my way through specializing in neuropsychology.
