One of Amanda's favorite quotes is:""Certain things catch your eye, But pursue only those that capture your heart." ~ An old indian saying "United we fight Divided we fall." "When you get older and you are ready, your ancestors will show up to guide you." -- Joe Coyhis, STOCKBRIDGE-MUNSEE Many of us, when we are young, spend a portion of our lives in learning. Unfortunately, some of us spend this time learning the hard way. When we are young we sometimes think we know everything. Sometimes we do foolish things. As we get a little older, we realize we don't know anything. This is when we become teachable. There is a saying that goes, when the student is ready, the teacher appears. We usually aren't teachable unless we are ready. The ancestors are waiting and willing to help. When we are ready, many beautiful teachers start to come into our lives. Then we really start to grow and mature. We are ready for the spiritual lesson. -Creator, help me to become ready and teachable- "I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." — Marilyn Monroe "LIFE isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. Its about learning to dance in the rain." The BIBLE: Ephesians 5:15 "I can do all things thru Christ who gives me strength." The BIBLE: Phil.4:13 "Dream as if you'll live forever, live like you'll die today"---James Dean "Champions arn't born there made" Miesha Tate "It doesn't matter how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get up"---Vince Lomardi A person who never made a mistake, never tried anything new. -Albert Einstein Everyone says love hurts, but that isn't true. Loneliness hurts. Rejection hurts. Losing someone hurts. Envy hurts. Everyone gets these things confused with love, but in reality love is the only thing in this world that covers up all the pain and makes someone feel wonderful again. Love is the only thing in this world that does not hurt♥ ..."Letting go doesn't mean giving up... it means moving on. It is one of the hardest things a person can do. Starting at birth, we grasp on to anything we can get our hands on, and hold on as if we will cease to exist when we let go. We feel that letting go is giving up, quitting, and that as we all know is cowardly. But as we grow older we are force...Expand for more
d to change our way of thinking. We are forced to realize that letting go means accepting things that cannot be. It means maturing and moving on, no matter how hard you have to fight yourself to do so." -Unknown The moment someone tells you that you're not good enough is the moment you know you're better than them.~Unknown I am strong because I am weak. I am beautiful because I know my flaws. I am a lover because I am a fighter. I am fearless because I have been afraid. I am smart because I have been stupid. & I can laugh because I've known sadness. :) UNKNOWN Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.. Psalm 23:4 LOVE bears all things...believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.....I Cor.13:7 "Love is the hardest habit to break, and the most difficult to satisfy" UNKNOWN "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." Luke 6:37 "He [The Great Spirit] only sketches out the path of life roughly for all the creatures on earth, shows them where to go, where to arrive, but leaves them to find their own way to get there. He wants them to act independently according to their nature, to the urges of each of them. - -- Lame Deer, LAKOTA ... - Every person is created with purpose and with direction. This purpose and direction is written in our hearts when we are conceived. In addition, we are given access to a quiet guidance system which helps us find our purpose and our direction. We need to recognize this guidance system. It's called intuition, the quiet voice, urges, the knowing, or the feeling. Once we locate our purpose and direction, we are given skills, talents and abilities that are unique to only ourselves. We must practice daily prayer and meditation with God to find this information. To be solid and confident in ourselves, we always need to be able to answer three questions: why am I?, who am I?, and where am I going? If I can answer these three questions, I always know I'm OK! - - Great Spirit, show me my path of life. The Old Man said,`you are both ugly and handsome and you must accept your ugliness as well as your handsomeness in order to really accept yourself." - -- Larry P. Aitken, CHIPPEWA ... My Grandfather told me one time that any person who is judgmental to another is also judgmental to themselves. If we want to be free of being judgmental, we need to first work on how judgmental we are to ourselves. If we quit judging ourselves and start accepting ourselves as we are, we will start accepting others as they are. Then we will experience a level of new freedom. - Great Spirit, let me accept myself as I am - honoring both my strengths and my weaknesses".
