Amanda's Story
Life
I am currently single and living in Shreveport....ugh! I have no kids. I have two jobs. I work as a secretary Mon.-Fri. at a local church and I am a Respiratory Therapist. I work for an agency doing the RT stuff at night and on the weekends. I like to hang out with friends and just have fun! I met my best friend at NSU (GO DEMONS!!). I'm thinking about traveling with the respiratory job...I love change.
School
I had the biggest crush on JC Stewart. We were all so young and stupid back then...it's funny to look back on my high school years!!! We had a great time. I think if I could do it all over again, I would change one thing....I would have enjoyed it a little more. I was always the one to take things too seriously.
College
The first roommate I ever had was a strange girl....she scared me! She talked non-stop and after two weeks of listening to her, I told her I was moving in with a girl I had met like 5 minutes before because my ears hurt from listening to her. I don't think anyone else ever moved in with her. I only saw her on campus ...Expand for more
once after that....I'm a horrible person! But anyhow, that's how I met my best friend. She's the girl that I met who had no roommate and lived in an upper-class dorm. We took a chance on us getting along and I am so glad that we did....she's the best friend a girl could ever have!!!
Workplace
I've done everything!!! I've worked as a store sales person, secretary, a bridal consultant, and a respiratory therapist. I put myself through school working three jobs (all while attending school full-time). LSU-S SUCKS!!!! I was 30 hours away from graduating with a double major (Biology and Chemistry) at NSU when I tranferred back home (much to my dismay...my grandfather was dying and I was helping take care of him). I was going to finish up my Pre-Med degree at LSU-S, but after a semester found out that only 36 of my hours transferred....how crappy is that?!? So, I went to BPCC where I graduated in 2003 with my Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy. I love it! I'm thinking about going back to NSU to finish up my last 30 hours though....only time will tell...
