Amanda's Story
Twenty years out of high school...hard to wrap my head around. In a nutshell, I left GI the summer of '88. I went to "nanny school" and was a nanny in NY for 4 years. I came back to NE and went to UNK for 2 years. I met my husband there and married him in GI in 1994. We moved to Omaha right away and still live here. I was a nanny for a while in Omaha while I finished my degree in Early Childhood Development at UNO. During that time, I had my first child and was pregnant with my second. I graduated, then had my second boy. I started my Tastefully Simple business in 2000 (because why would I want to do anything with my degree that I spent so many years working on?). a nanny placement service with a friend from New York in 2006. NannyCare Connections is going into it's thrid year. So, together, I own and run two businesses. My boys are 10 and 8. Andrew is into playing the guitar, playing sports and sort of into school. Jacob is my little brain. He likes to read, play video games, go to school, and play basketball. All in all, pretty well-rounded little guys. My husband, James, is a computer programmer, works for Securities America and owns his own consulting biz, Marsh Systems Solutions. I guess that is about it...like I said, in a nut shell. Hope I didn't bore you. I would love to hear from anyone out there who cares to contact me. :-)
