Ambrose's Story
Life
Thought I would update my life story in the "now". I am semi-retired. Retired recently from the Post Office. I am now selling real estate for Remax in Bensalem, Pa. Will do this for a while-then retire completely to playing my guitar, ancestry.com and my six grandchildren, Found out recently that my great great grandfather fought in the civil war along with 7 of his brothers. Six of his brothers died in that war. He was one of two that survived. They were all from Tennessee (my mother was from there), yet they all fought for the Union. Interesting that our history is not as "...Expand for more
black and white" as we have been taught! A mother from Boston lost 3 out of five sons in the Civil War and President Lincoln sent a personal letter of condolencse to her, but my great great great grandmother never received one for losing 6 of eight sons. I would like to believe that he was not aware of this. Also, the ancestors of those men (and mine) go all the way back to Plymouth, Mass. The colony was founded in 1607 and my ancestors landed in 1612 on a boat called the"Charles" I guess you can tell that I like history. Anyway, I wish all my fellow classmates well and God Speed!
