Amy's Story
Life
After graduation, I took a semester off and began pursuing my Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I graduated in 1992 with a degree in Communication Arts with an emphasis on film history. I then spent seven and a half years working for the Wisconsin Newspaper Association.
My original intention was to try and find work in a film archive or in the area of film preservation, which led me to consider going to library school. I left the Newspaper Association in March 2000 and then started working as an assistant in the library of the Wisconsin State Journal and The Capital Times.
After a ten year hiatus, in January 2002, I returned to

graduate school. I received a Master of Arts degree in Library and Information Studies in December 2004. I then moved to Ohio to become a news researcher at The Columbus Dispatch. In July 2007, I was promoted and am now the director of the paper's Editoral Library. Quite a 360 from my original intention of working in the health care field. :)
My parents still live in Oregon, while my sister lives in Milton and my brother in Sun Prairie. I also have a wonderful six-year-old nephew, Jared.
Earlier this year, a three-year relationship I'd had with a 1985 OHS graduate who will remain unnamed ended badly. Right now, I'm enjoying being single and enjoying my new adventure in Ohio.
