Amy's Story

Life Hi, to Everyone who views this.... I, too, have been wanting to re-connect with school friends. I hope all of you are well. About me and my family...I have been married for 26 years, now. Jeff is 7 years older than I. We met in DuBois, Pa., his home town. Our children are Joanna (24), Jamie (f-22) and Joey (Jr.-20). All three are in college at this time. Joanna attends Univ of Missouri at Kansas City. She is in an elem-ed program. We have some friends out there and she really liked the area. Jamie is beginning her second semester of esthitician school plus college transfer classes. She is interested in pursuing a career in psychology and she is looking into attending Messiah College in Grantham, Pa. But, that is a year and a half down the road. Joey attends Eliz City State U here in NC. He is a first semester junior in Communications. I just recently changed jobs. I did child protective services work for the past 9 years. I just moved into doing foster care work. I changed employers because where I was was so stressful and poor management. The new job still is stressful, but better management who is very helpful. So far, I am OK with everything. My mom di...Expand for more
ed last year, Oct. 20, 2006. My sister took her ashes to Eldred to be buried with my dad and brother Bill. I want to get up there sometime this year. I really miss my mom. She lived here in Washington for 8 years. When her health began to fail, it fell on me to look after her. So many emotions there, that it is still very personal and difficult to express them. Jeff and I took our first vacation alone this year...to Albuquerque to his brother's and the International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. Go, if you have opportunity to do so. Very cool! Hundreds of beautiful balloons overhead at the same time. It was a beautiful vacation. We are also in a remodeling state here in our home. I am getting a new kitchen shortly and am really looking forward to that. We are almost finished with a new "Flordia room" on the back of the house. Really, it is just a screened porch, but will be so nice. It rarely snows here. It does get "cold"....yeah, right!..So we will be able to use the room probably 8 or 9 months out of the year.....except for when it gets really hot and humid. Well, guess that is it in a nutshell. Hope to hear from some of you soon. Amy Stroup Rieg "Stroupie"
