I was married to an AFA cadet and we lived in Massachusetts a year. Before marriage I finished my BA at CU. Then moved to Urbana, Ill where I worked in Agriculture Dept (and me a TOTAL CITY GIRL - the profs made fun of me but not in a hurtful way - how was I to know what a percolation pond was, or a sow or a boar or some such things!). We then moved to Vandenberg AFB between Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo for 4 years. Weather just like SF as it stuck far out into Pacific. They still launch missiles and when we were there Atlas and huge TITAN missiles. Fog rolled out at 10:a.m. and rolled back in at 3 p.m. Kristy, my WONDERFUL daughter born there in 1973. We moved to San Jose, CA when it was inexpensive there (1976) and now the house we/I owned is in middle of Silicon Valley/dot.com land. We divorced when Kristy was 7 yrs old and I was single for 22 years. I worked at IBM Research Division for 14.5 years and for 7 of those years was an Exec Asst. There was a big across the board "downsizing" in 1993 when Apple came out with first desktop computers and IBM only making mainframes.
