Andrea's Story
Here's my life in a nutshell: After high school I attended Indiana University in Bloomington, where I graduated in 3 and a half years with a bachelor's degree in Journalism (focusing on Public Relations). I immediately started grad school at IU and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Masters degree in Kinesiology, focusing on Sport Management/Athletic Administration. I then moved to Chicago and became the Public Relations Manager for a professional motorsports team that raced in the NHRA and IHRA. I never knew anything about motorsports but learned a lot, and worked with a great group of people. While in Chicago, I also started teaching Sport Management courses at Columbia College, which helped me realize that I have a love for teaching! and just graduated with my Ph.D. in Human Performance (focus on Sport Management) in May of '08...so I am now officially "Dr. Eagleman"! In between all of that Ph.D. schoolwork, I got married to Karl Eagleman on December 30, 2006. Next up for us is a move to the Bay Area of California this summer, as I will begin a job as a professor at Saint Mary's College of California in the fall. Karl will be teaching elementary P.E., so we're very thankful to both be employed for our move!
Other than that, I love sports and still occasionally do gymnastics (I competed for the IU club team during my Ph.D.), and also like to run and work out. I also love photography, wine, and traveling. I'm a huge Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Oakland A's fan and can't wait to attend many A's games when we move to CA!
