Andrew's Story
Life
Hey Everyone!!
I've been working for our Uncle (Sam) since finishing my A.S. at Chattanooga State. It's hard to believe that I'll be retired in 5 years and ready to start a real life. We'll see what this "Aaaarmy training" is worth on the outside.
My wife, Sonia, daughter, Miranda (8) and son, Drew (2), come into Chattanooga quite often now that we're here in Augusta. My parents are in the same place that they've been for 30 yrs (Hwy 58). Hope to see some of y'all around town.

Hi all y'all!!
I've finally bought a membership to this website after having my profile on it for over 10 years. It was a pain not being able to see anyone's info. I couldn't pass up $10 for one year. Everyone should be here by now, huh?
Well, itÂs back to life as a civilian since retiring from the Army last summer, 1 July Â06. 20 years (and 14 days) was enough for me. We are still here in Augusta, GA, working at Fort Gordon. WeÂve been here since Â99 and decided to stay in the areaÂ
for now. I went right back in my old job as a computer systems administrator supervisor, except now wearing a Polo and khakis...way mo betta! Being able to walk right back in to work took all the stress right out of Âthe big transitionÂ. Do I feel cheated? Uh, no! I started out with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), a defense contractor, and was with them until I hopped to another contract with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) in Aug Â07. d job, great new offer!!
My wife, Sonia, and I celebrated our 20th anniversary this year (Aug 07) and she deserves a Purple Heart after my dragging her around the world for all that time. She became a government employee with the Dept. of the Army during our first assignment in Germany. About 3 years ago, she took a job with the NSA, so all her time transferred. She has about 13 years until she can retire. At that point, we plan to return to the Chattanooga area to live on the property that we bought on Whitwell mountainÂ
about 17 acres worth.
Our daughter, Miranda, just turned 15 and I can feel the grey hair coming. Actually, my hair made the decision not to turn greyÂ
...it just turns loose. SheÂs a ninth-grade JV cheerleader and her uniform just happens to match the shotgun that IÂm thinking about buying. (smile!)
Our son, Drew, was 9 in July (Â07). HeÂs into anything and everything. He loves sports and is getting pretty good at golf. I've been taking him around to the disc golf courses with me (we've got 7) and he's tearing that up too! He's 100% boy!!
I'm always looking for the chance to meet up with any of you when we're in town. Since my parents, in-laws, brother's and sister's families still live in Chattanooga, we make the trip quite often. We have lunch at Ankar's (still the best!) at least twice while we're there and often run into a few folks from school. Please shoot me an email at andy.m.b at comcast.net, and let's catch up!
Take care and let me hear from ya,
Andy
